Sri Vijaya Ganapathi Devalayam is situated in the public place in survey number 111 of the Sri Sowbhagya Vijayaramapuram Development Associaition (Regd.No 119/82) land in the Sowbhagyarayapuram Village, about 4 kilometers from the famous Simhachalam shrine in Visakhapatnam city.
The foundation stone for the temple was laid on 01.05.1986. It was in about 500 sq.yards in the public place of the above association. The secretary of the Association at that time, Sri.V.Vijayasaradhi was the main instrument in getting the foundation stone laid at that time. Immediately after laying the foundation stone, the work was commenced and the garbhagudi was constructed with in 3 months. While the work is in progress Sri.V.Vijayasaradhi was transferred from Visakhapatnam to Mancherial in Adilabad District of Andhrapradesh. Since then it is his wish and dream to complete the temple at the earliest, as the work came to a standstill on his transfer from Visakhapatnam.
He was again transferred back to visakhapatnam in the year 1997. Since then he tried to complete the work. But due to various problems, the work could not be started. However, he relentlessly tried his best to complete the same. Due to that relentless efforts, the temple mandapam was constructed in the year 1999. After words it is his wish to install the idol and inaugurate the temple at the earliest.
The idol of the Lord Sri Vijaya Ganapathi was chiseled by the sculptors of the Sri Kanka Durga temple in Vijayawada. It was about 200kgs with a single black stone.
Finally the temple was inaugurated with the installation of the Lord Sri Vijaya Ganapathi on 25.03.2000.
